カーディガン、編み始めました（ゆる進捗）
前回の記事で、
セールでまとめ買いした毛糸の話を書いたのですが。
すきま時間の編み物の話 ー 頑張ったご褒美に半年分の毛糸を買いました！ - アラフォーフリーランスとかれーなるかぞく
その中にあった カーディガン用の毛糸、
ようやく編み始めました。
「いつ始めるか問題」をしばらく抱えていたものの、
えいやっと針を持ったら、
そこからは意外とすんなり。
最初の一目、ちょっとハードル高いけど…
編み物って、
最初の一目を作るまでが
なんとなく心理的ハードルだったりします。
・・・が、個人的には、
このタイミングが結構わくわくもします。
「よし、ここから始まるぞ」感。
ただし問題がひとつあって、
最初しかやらない作業なので、手順を忘れがち（笑
毎回
「えっと…どうやるんだっけ？」
となりつつ、
動画やメモを見返して思い出します。
（この時間も含めて、編み物）
今の進捗：右前身頃
現在の進み具合はというと、
右前身頃を編んでいるところです。
まだ序盤なので、
「進んだ！」というほどではないですが、
確実に形の一部を作っている感じ。
一気に進めるというより、
時間のあるときに数段ずつ、
といういつものペースです。
実は、カーディガン編むのは2回目
カーディガンを編むのは、実は今回で2回目。
前回は 黄色でした。
それが娘たちに思いのほか好評で、
「これ、好き」
「私も着たい」
と言ってもらえたのが、地味にうれしくて。
なので今回は、
長女用としてピンクのカーディガンを編んでいます。
色が変わるだけで、
編んでいるときの気分もだいぶ違います。
完成はまだ先。でも、それでいい
カーディガンはやっぱり長丁場。
でも、
「ちゃんと着てもらえる未来」が見えているので、
焦らず、のんびり。
完成を急ぐというより、
編んでいる時間そのものを楽しむ感じで
進めています。
また少し進んだら、
そのときの気分と一緒に
軽く記録していこうと思います。
I’ve Finally Started Knitting the Cardigan (A Very Casual Progress Update)
In my previous post,
I wrote about buying a bunch of yarn during a sale.
One of those was yarn for a cardigan—
and I’ve finally started knitting it.
I kept thinking,
“When should I start?”
for a while… but once I picked up the needles,
it actually went pretty smoothly.
The First Stitch: A Little Tricky, but Exciting
Knitting often has this funny moment at the beginning.
Making the very first stitch can feel like a small mental hurdle.
But personally,
I also find it kind of exciting.
It’s that “Okay, here we go” feeling.
That said…
the first steps are things you only do once per project,
so I always forget the exact order.
Every time, I end up thinking,
“Wait… how did this go again?”
and checking notes or videos.
Honestly, that’s part of knitting too.
Current Progress: Right Front Panel
As for where I am now—
I’m working on the right front panel.
It’s still early days,
so it doesn’t look like much yet,
but it feels good to know that a real part of the cardigan
is slowly taking shape.
I’m not rushing it.
Just a few rows at a time, whenever I have a moment.
This Is My Second Cardigan
This is actually my second cardigan.
The first one I made was yellow,
and to my surprise, my daughters really liked it.
They wore it,
and even asked about it again later.
That made me happy enough that this time,
I’m knitting this pink cardigan for my eldest daughter.
Changing the color alone already makes
the whole project feel different.
It’ll Take Time—and That’s Fine
A cardigan is definitely a long-term project.
But since I can already picture her wearing it,
I’m happy to take my time.
I’m not trying to finish it as fast as possible.
I’m enjoying the process,
letting it fit into the small gaps of everyday life.
I’ll probably write another little update
once it moves along a bit more.
