相変わらず、すきま時間に編み物をしています。
編み進めるスピードは遅いし、完成したものも多くはないのですが、
「ちょっと手を動かす」という行為自体が、最近はすっかり習慣になりました。
そうなると、当然のように毛糸も気になるわけで。
セール、見てしまった
ある日、amuhibiのオンラインショップを何気なく見ていたら、セールをやっていました。
本当に、ただ見ただけです。最初は。
でも、
・2025年、まあまあ頑張った
・趣味の買い物としては健全
・しかもセール
という条件がそろってしまい、
「これはもう買う流れでは？」
という気分に。
というわけで、深く考えずにまとめ買いしました。
カーディガンとニットのセット
今回買ったのは、
カーディガン用とニット用で、それぞれ編めるようにまとめて買いました。
単品の毛糸を少しずつ集めるのも楽しいですが、
まとめて買うと「考えなくていい」のがいい。
これを編めばいい。
糸は足りる。
色合わせも済んでいる。
今の自分には、この気楽さがちょうどよかったです。
まだ編んでいないけれど
まだどちらから編むかも、決めていません。
でも、
「次に編むものが決まっている毛糸を待っている」
という状態だけで、すでに少し楽しい。
前回の記事でも書いたように、
編み物は今のところ、気合を入れてやる趣味ではなく、
生活の端っこに置いておくもの、という感じです。
毛糸をまとめ買いした、というだけの話ですが、
でも、こういう小さな楽しみがあると、しばらくは機嫌よく過ごせそうです。
I Bought Yarn at an amuhibi Sale
Lately, I’ve been knitting a lot in my spare time.
Not seriously, not efficiently—just whenever I have a few quiet minutes.
It’s become one of those habits that slips into daily life without much effort.
And once that happens, you start looking at yarn.
A lot.
I wasn’t planning to buy anything (but…)
One day, I casually opened the amuhibi online shop.
No plan. Just browsing.
And then—of course—they were having a sale.
At first, I told myself I was just looking.
But then I thought:

2025 was a pretty busy year
-
I did my best, more or less
-
This is a hobby, not an impulse buy
-
And… it’s on sale
At that point, it felt less like temptation and more like a decision already made.
So yes, I bought yarn.
Actually, I bought sets.
Cardigan and sweater yarn sets
What I ordered were two yarn sets:
one for a cardigan, and one for a sweater.
I like buying individual skeins, but sets have a certain appeal.
Everything is already decided for you.
Enough yarn.
Colors that work together.
A clear idea of what this is supposed to become.
Right now, that kind of simplicity feels perfect.
Buying yarn online, casually
This time, I bought everything online instead of going to a physical shop.
I looked at the photos, read the descriptions, and thought,
“Yeah, this should be fine.”
Will it feel exactly like I imagine when it arrives?
Maybe. Maybe not.
But that uncertainty is part of the fun.
Waiting is already part of the hobby
The yarn hasn’t arrived yet.
I haven’t decided which project to start first.
I might even just take it out of the box, admire it, and do nothing for a while.
And honestly, that’s okay.
As I wrote in my previous post, knitting isn’t something I’m pushing myself to do.
It’s just something I keep nearby—quiet, optional, and comforting.
Buying yarn on sale as a “good job surviving 2025” reward isn’t a big story.
But small, pleasant things like this tend to make everyday life a little nicer.
And for now, that’s more than enough.
